I’m James – a senior UX/UI designer who codes, currently based in Valencia, Spain, and open to my next role.
Here’s what makes me a little different: I design and I code. I’m fluent in Figma and in production front-end — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Webflow — so I think through structure, interaction, CMS logic, and dev handoff from day one. Fewer surprises between what’s in the mockup and what ships.
That combo has been the through-line of my career. I started at Jade Orchard, a web marketing studio, working on design and front-end for clients like Ben & Jerry’s, Newfi, and NHI. Then six years at eBay — including two as lead designer on The Hub, the company’s Nielsen Norman Award–winning intranet used by every employee — followed by a Lead UX role at Vistaprint on Product Options.
I also co-founded Three Gloves Design, a small Webflow studio doing conversion-focused sites for SMBs, and I’m building Saora, a portfolio platform for artists — my first client just launched.
– Product UX for complex, configurable systems (dashboards, admin tools, e-commerce)
– Design systems and component libraries
– Marketing sites where UX and brand have to actually work together
– Bridging design and engineering when handoff usually goes sideways
I live in Valencia, Spain with my wife and two dogs. Comfortable in-house, embedded with a team, or on contract — if what you’re building lines up with any of the above, I’d love to talk.
